What is therapy all about? A unique process for everyone focused on reaching optimal emotional and physical wellness. Clients may experience one or more of the following treatment techniques while in therapy.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a short-term treatment intervention typically used to address various forms of anxiety disorders, fears and depression. It acts to treat dysfunctional/maladaptive thoughts and feelings that influence behaviors. It can be used in conjunction with other treatment modalities or by itself.
- Psychodynamic psychotherapy (insight-oriented), a long-term form of treatment, when appropriate, focuses on unconscious processes as they affect present behavior(s). Insight and self-reflection are major goals. It may be used in the treatment of depression, anxiety, panic and stress. Psychodynamic therapy, combined with interpersonal therapy, facilitates the development of healthy interpersonal relationships.
- Mindfulness Mindfulness practice supports the ability to live, in balance, in the here and now. It allows patients to experience, sit with, and take responsibility for emotions and feelings just as they are. It is important for clients to experience their emotions in a nonjudgmental way in a supportive environment.
“How will I know if therapy is working?”
Many clients are curious to know when they will feel better and how treatment works. During the initial sessions, we will discuss your goals for treatment and begin working towards meeting them. Throughout the process we will mutually assess progress and review treatment goals.
“How does therapy work?”
Every treatment process is different as are every client’s needs. Typically, clients present issues in their lives that they would like to address. Through talk therapy, clients are able to identify areas of change and work towards personal growth. My goal is to help clients develop and practice healthy ways to manage current and past life stressors.

I am an out-of-network provider. Out-of-network clients are encouraged to submit session receipts to their insurance carrier. Generally, insurance plans that provide out-of-network coverage offer a 50-75% reimbursement to the insured. Please contact your insurance provider to find out about your mental health coverage, specifically “out-of-network” mental health benefits.
